‘Be Mongolian’ takes a look at Mongolian society through the lens of Mongolian fashion, away from the bucolic, geopolitical and sometimes third-world representations. Through its anthropological and visual questioning, we see the complexity of this society in reflection and in movement. The Mongolian fashion system becomes a medium through which we can see contemporary Mongolia and the process by which Mongolian identity is being constructed.
